Quick answer: Oregon has no spousal support formula. Under ORS § 107.105(1)(d), the court shall designate one or more categories of spousal support and make findings of the relevant factors. Transitional support helps a party obtain the education and training needed to reenter or advance in the job market; compensatory support applies when one party made a significant financial or other contribution to the other’s education, training, vocational skills, career or earning capacity; and spousal maintenance is a contribution by one spouse to the support of the other for a specified or indefinite period. Each category has its own list of factors; for maintenance they include the duration of the marriage, the parties’ ages and health, the standard of living established during the marriage, relative income and earning capacity, training and work experience, financial needs and resources, tax consequences and custodial and child support responsibilities. Spousal support ends on the death of either party, and the court may modify it on a substantial change in economic circumstances (compensatory support only on an involuntary, extraordinary and unanticipated change that reduces the payor’s earning capacity).
What this calculator shows
The calculator builds a monthly ceiling from the recipient’s shortfall and the payor’s ability to pay. It does not predict an award or its category. The three categories are in transitional, compensatory and maintenance support, the factors and findings in the factors and the findings the court must make and termination, modification and reinstatement in termination, modification and reinstatement.
Property, child support and spousal support
Spousal support is decided with the property division, and when both child and spousal support are set, spousal support comes first. See the Oregon property division calculator and the Oregon child support calculator.

The statute applies in every Oregon circuit court, from Portland, Salem, Eugene, Gresham, Hillsboro or Bend.
