Pecuniary loss is uncapped; society and companionship is capped
Wisconsin's wrongful death statute, Wis. Stat. 895.04, allows pecuniary damages plus loss of society and companionship up to $350,000 for an adult and $500,000 for a minor.
The deadline is three years, or two years for a motor vehicle death, and the Wisconsin jury instruction for the death of a parent explains how the limit applies.
