Louisiana bars UM stacking by statute, with one exception for non-owned vehicles

Louisiana's rule is in La. R.S. 22:1295: paragraph (1)(a) sets the required coverage and the rejection form, paragraph (1)(c) is the antistacking and priority rule, and paragraph (2)(b) defines an underinsured vehicle. The minimum limits are in 32:900, and the two-year deadline in Civil Code article 3493.1.

Read how stacked and single-policy coverage differ in Louisiana, check what paragraph (1)(c) says, or see how Louisiana UM covers underinsured drivers.
