Strict liability for unprovoked bites
4 O.S. 42.1 makes the owner of any dog liable for the full amount of damages when the dog, without provocation, bites or injures a person who is in or on a place where he has a lawful right to be. Landlord liability is established through case law rather than statute.
Oklahoma applies modified comparative negligence to dog bite cases, and the deadline is two years.
